About Zhetytobe South Kurgan Cluster (Seven Hills South Ridge)

Southern ancillary cluster 3 km south of Zhetytobe Seven Hills core necropolis (380 m) on Turkestan Ridge south spur, overlooking Arys River valley. Holds 6 Saka kurgans 18–42 m diam, 1.4–4.2 m high with mudbrick ring walls 60 cm, distinct from core stone kurgans. Largest South-03 (42 m) with 4.2 m high adobe ring enclosing central cist with gold appliqué horse harness and Wusun-era bronze mirror. Dated 4th–2nd c. BCE Early Saka to Wusun transition; adobe technique indicates Sogdian contact. Cluster faces Turkestan holy mountain 38 km NE.
