About Baltic Anomaly – Gulf of Bothnia UFO Sonar Pseudo-Target
The Baltic Anomaly is a 60 m circular sonar target at −87 m in the Gulf of Bothnia imaged June 2011 by Ocean X team (Peter Lindberg) with 300 m side-scan at 87 m depth, claimed as a UFO, Nazi anti-submarine device, or Atlantis-linked sunken city with 300 m drag trail. Subsequent ROV dives (2012) showed the target is a fractured Precambrian sandstone outcrop with glacial gouge striations, columnar jointing and a pluck scar — the drag trail is a glacial meltwater trough.
Stockholm University (Professor Volker Brüchert) analysed dredged samples 2012 as basalt type, confirmed glacial-cemented grès. No cut marks, no mortar, no right-angle joints at mm resolution; the 60 m circle is a joint-controlled tor. Media amplified Atlantis claims before any sampling; Ocean X never published peer review. Included as cautionary 2010s Baltic Atlantis sonar-paramecium.
