About Beishan Niche Complex — Dazu Extension Eastern Valley
Eastern valley extension of the UNESCO Dazu Beishan carvings (already in DB dazu-rock-carvings) but distinct 300-m stretch separated by a karst saddle with c.150 Tang–Southern Song niches not included in the core 290-core. The 10-m Avalokitesvara transformation niche (Tang 892 CE) with 88 small bodhisattvas and the Song mandala wheel niche illustrate continuity from Tang 890 to Song 1169. Vegetation-encroached but recently conserved with drainage and iron walkway, showing Dazu's outer estate temple organization.
