About Cahuachi Sector Y

Sector Y 500 m west of Great Pyramid at Cahuachi: adobe (adobito) pyramid 8 m high 40×35 m base with plastered terrace for feasting middens and Paracas-Cahuachi polychrome offering cache (head jars). Excavated by Orefici CISRAP; shows Cahuachi was pilgrimage center not city, with sector Y as temporary lodging barrio for pilgrims from Pampa de Jumana lines.

Why it mattersDemonstrates Cahuachi pilgrimage model via sector Y feasting terrace linking Nazca Lines pampa to ceremonial adobes.
