About
About Moro-Casma Desert Pampa Geoglyphs (Áncash)
Arid pampa (210 m, 9°28′48″S 78°18′00″W) between Río Casma and Río Sechín, extension north of known Sechín Bajo pyramid (1800 BCE) pampa lines. New drone census (Vega 2022) recorded 24 figures: 100-250 m cleared lines, 45-60 m elongated triangles pointing to Sechín massif, plus 6-12 m circles on marine terrace. Bromeliaceae-free pavement gives sharp contrast. Associated with Sechín culture (1600-1000 BCE) and later Casma-Chimú. Lines respect 4WD tracks, indicating palimpsest; Pampa de las Llamas-Moxeque embankment overlays one triangle, capping dating.
Why it mattersNorthern complement to known Casma-Sechín pampa lines, closest to Sechín Bajo pyramid.
