About Claros South Sanctuary — Ahmetbeyli Oracle Annex

192, 1 km south of main Claros (French excavations de La Genière-Robert 1913–). 2-km sacred road to Notion (archaeologists found milestones). While main Claros has 6th BCE archaic altar and Hellenistic 6×11 Doric temple (3rd BCE), south annex shows Roman imperial expansion under Domitian where oracle was at peak (prophecies in 7 languages). Inscriptions 700+ dedication to Apollo Clarios. UNESCO Tentative Ionian Cities. Groundwater now damaging French water table.

Why it mattersOnly Doric oracle adyton besides Delphi, documenting Roman imperial multilingual divination industry via sacred road to Notion port.
