Hopewell circular enclosure at Cowan Lake State Park, Clinton County. Magnetometry 2010 showed four interior pit clusters, no mound. Protected 1974 NRHP. Links Scioto core to Little Miami. Systematic excavation and published survey document stratified deposits, architectural phasing and georeferenced plans. Built c.100 BCE – 200 CE; purpose: Ceremonial enclosure with astronomical causeway. Significance includes multi-phase occupation and landscape setting at 310 m elevation.
