About
About Diquís Stone Spheres
Costa Rica's Diquís Delta preserves over 300 near-perfect spheres of gabbro up to 2.66 m diameter and 16 tonnes, shaped by pecking and grinding until calipers verify sphericity within 2 cm. European discovery by United Fruit Company clearing banana terraces in the 1930s revealed in situ alignments of spheres before cacique houses and conical mounds. Finca 6 forms a two-sphere alignment with mounds oriented to Cerro de la Muerte.
