Spectacular Hopewell hilltop enclosure (c.100 BCE–400 CE) atop Baker Fork gorge, enclosing 14 ha ridgetop with 2.4 km serpentine stone-and-earth wall 3 m high × 15 m base, 33 gateway openings aligned to solstice, and interior Moorehead Circle pit-feature triad. Built on Devonian limestone gorge 120 m above valley, wall follows cliff precipice. Excavated by Squier & Davis, Moorehead, Connolly; produced cordmarked Hopewell ceramics, bladelets. Hilltop ceremonial enclosure with astronomical gateways — not fortification. Ohio Nature Preserve.
