About Hassek Höyük East Village
Hassek Höyük East Village is the 1.5 ha lower village east of the 0.8 ha high mound excavated by Manfred Behm-Blanke (1979–86) before Atatürk inundation. Stratigraphy: Chalcolithic 4900 BCE Obed-related painted pottery, Late Uruk towered citadel, EBA I–II village with copper smelting furnaces and terracotta model shrines. EBA pits produced child jar burials and mass-bowls.
