Sarmatian elite kurgan (1st c. CE) famed for Novocherkassk Treasure — Sarmatian–Alanic gold diadem, Greek–Roman imports and phalerae, excavated 1864 illegal dig then Viktor Shcherbakov archaeology. The 8 m mound with catacomb-style chamber contained tablet-woven gold clothing, Parthian silver and Bosporan jewelry, exemplifying Sarmatian steppe elite after Sauromatian–Scythian eclipse. Single rich female (?) burial with horse furniture. Represents Sarmatian migration climax in Azov steppe. Buried under Don loess.
