About Koi Krylgan Kala

Excavated 1950s–80s by S.P. Tolstov's Khorezm Expedition and Rapoport, Koi Krylgan yielded Zoroastrian ossuaries, wall paintings of grape harvest and deities, and archaeo-astronomical alignments suggesting use as solar/lunar observatory; inscribed in Toprak-Kala sphere as temple before Toprak became capital.
Why it mattersOnly circular Khorezm fortress — archetype for Central Asian astronomical-ritual architecture; richest Zoroastrian ossuary assemblage outside Sogdiana.
