UNESCO 2011 masterpiece of intensive hillside drystone terraces 60 km2 by Konso since 17th c (tradition 400 yr), stonewalled towns (paletas) with generation pa poles and waka anthropomorphic grave memorials of heroes with phallic–oolitic carvings. 200 km² + UNESCO buffer. Epitomises human adaptation to arid highlands.
