La Galgada in Ancash, Peru is a Late Preceramic / Kotosh Tradition (3000 – 1800 BCE) temple complex attributed to Kotosh / La Galgada culture. Grieder & Bueno 1978: earliest Andean circular courts, Kotosh Mito tradition, burials with Spondylus, 180 human remains. Systematic excavation and published survey document stratified deposits, architectural phasing and georeferenced plans. Built c.3000 BCE; purpose: Highland circular-court temple with subterranean galleries and fire altars. Significance includes multi-phase occupation and landscape setting at 1100 m elevation.
