About
About Mid-Atlantic Ridge Atlantis Claim – Steiner Ridge Pseudo
Mid-Atlantic Ridge disproved as Atlantis remains: Ignatius Donnelly 1882 'Atlantis: The Antediluvian World' placed Atlantis on mid-ocean ridge 45N 28W with Azores as peaks; Steiner 1960 extended claiming Iceland–Azores ridge plateau exposed as causeway at lowstand. 1968 H. W. Menard and 1972 Vine–Matthews seafloor spreading magnetic lineations prove ridge is juvenile accretion 0–20 Ma basalt rift, not continental sial 9600 BCE. DSDP Leg 3 Leg 37 cores mid-ridge: fresh basalt pillows 1 Ma, not granite. Atlantis-causeway magnetism stripes age growth 2 cm/yr.
Why it mattersSeafloor spreading refutation — Atlantic ridge as juvenile basalt vs Atlantis sial continental record.

- 01Could any continental sliver exist on ridge like Jan Mayen microplate?
- 02Why does ridge bathymetry bulge resemble isthmus silhouette from isobaths?
Theories
- 01Jan Mayen microplate small but ridge still basalt pillow vs granite
- 02Ridge isobath bulge is pillow basalt accumulation not isthmus
