About
About Pampas de Moxos — Central Lagoon Mound at Cedro Lagoon Hypothesis (Moxos Central Hypothetical) — v2
Hypothetical central lagoon islet at Cedro lagoon central hypothesis, where a 200 m circular mound 2.5 m high with 500 m causeway and 80 m square embankment now show on 2020 Sentinel-2 NDVI inside Cedro lagoon but 2022 ground check found mound is floating mat of camalote palm and lagoon-edge levee 0.4 m is hippo-like burrow upcast and natural floating polder, not Casarabe. Hypothesis by outsider 2020 promoted as 'Moxos central pyramid islet' inside lagoon, but Prümers team notes lagoon is seasonally 3 m flooded and central islet is seasonal floating vegetation with no terra preta — only 1200 CE charcoal is reed burn. Treated hypothetical: lagoon cannot host Casarabe permanent settlement.
Why it mattersTests most extreme Moxos lagoon claim: central lagoon hypothesis disproved by floating mat seasonal dynamics; levee 0.4 m is hippo burrow (capybara) not causeway; clarifies Moxos lagoon vs causeway conflation.
