Northernmost Cyrenaica cape harbour – Ptolemy 4.4.2 Phykous akron – storm refuge (naustathmos) for Cyrene–Crete traffic, xenion? Cisterns, rock-cut slipways, twin moles 120 m at –2 m, quadrangular anchorage inside. Goodchild noted Phoenician? Actually Cyrenean outpost 6th–4th BCE; Roman staging. ADA quake 365 similarly displaced like Apollonia-Cyrenaica but Phycus tip more exposed. Surveyed by Italian Mission Cyrene 1960s; Fleming maritime 1969 maps mole –2 m. Very isolated, looted WWII.
