About
About Shilikty Satellite Kurgan 8 (Chilikty Golden Ridge Extension)
Outlier satellite (1,120 m) 4 km east of the royal Shilikty Golden Kurgan (Bayeshi, 800 BCE) in the Shilikty (Chilikty) Valley, Zaysan District, East Kazakhstan, Tarbagatai foothills. 8 m high surrounded by 12-m kromlekh of granite boulders, contrasting with neighboring 'royal' 48–60 m mounds—interpreted as retainer elite contemporary with Golden Kurgan 700 BCE. Excavated 1998 side chamber yielded iron short sword with gold-foil hilt and 62 panther-coiled appliqué, stylistically identical to Arzhan 2 but 400 km west, proving Saka animal-style canon diffusion.
Swarm satellite demonstrates early Saka ranking: royal + retainer cluster not single elite isolation. Valley is Sary-Arka–Altai corridor.
Why it mattersSatellite ranking within Early Saka Golden Kurgan cluster; Arzhan animal canon 400 km west.
