Napatan and New Kingdom Egyptian cemetery with small steep pyramids (c.1500–500 BCE) on alluvial plain of Nile at Third Cataract near Tombos village. Egyptian colonial cemetery of Thutmose I–III viceroyalty with later Kushite reuse. Mudbrick pyramids 5–8 m base over shaft tombs with chapels, columned halls East Bank vs West Bank island site. Excavated by Smith-Buzon and Knudstad, bioarchaeology shows Egyptian-Kushite admixture. Includes granite quarry of Thutmose III with unfinished colossus.
