About Üçağızlı Cave
Sea cave at Üçağızlı village north of Samandağ, excavated since 1997 by Kuhn, Stiner and Güleç. Initial Upper Palaeolithic Ahmarian levels (43–30 ka) with Levalloise-to-blade transition, Nassarius beads and Emireh points parallel to Ksar Akil.
Why it mattersEarliest Upper Palaeolithic on Mediterranean Hatay coast, anchor for Neanderthal-to-modern transition and Nassarius exchange.
