About Unfinished Northern Pyramid at Zawiyet el-Aryan — Baka

Unfinished pyramid Z2 at northern Zawiyet el-Aryan: enormous square foundation trench 110 m base, oval shaft 15 m deep and 20×25 m, intended pyramid never raised beyond foundation. Excavated by Barsanti 1904-05, Reisner. Alabaster quarry floors and inscribed blocks 'Baka' found. Surrounded by workers' village and huge enclosure. Military zone restricts access. Shows 4th Dynasty experimentation after Djedefre before Khufu's Great Pyramid.
