Epic 'Amnisos where Eileithyia's cave above' (Odyssey 19.188) — Knossos' Bronze Age seaport on Heraklion Bay: Minoan villa complex (House of the Lilies, lily fresco, Linear B tablet Amnisos incised stirrup jars), Classical temple of Eileithyia cave inland, and Minoan–Roman harbour quay 70 m at –1 to –3 m on reef off Amnisos chapel, mapped by Galanaki 2006 underwater rescue survey ahead of resort. 365 Crete earthquake subsided quay –1.4 m. Linked by Knossos–Amnisos viaduct (Minoan paved road with bridges). Abandon after Herakleion Venetian harbour takes role.
