Boeotian port on Evoikos – Homer's Anthedon and major Classical shipyard for Thebes via Lake Copais outflow, twin moles, ship sheds (neoria). Harbour mole 400 m enclosing 6 ha basin at –3 to –4 m due to Evoikos rift subsidence 3 m since antiquity. Lauffer, Schläger & Blackman surveys.
