Timurid 1350 (or 1398 according to Khondamir) arch dam 8 km W Mashhad at Golestan gorge 36.33,59.15 on Kashafrud tributary draining Binalud. 24 m high 96 m crest arch (radius 60) supplied Golestan imperial garden (Timur's grandsons Shah Rukh built Herat–Mashhad complex) and later Safavid Mashhad Imam Reza shrine's garden canal 8 km. 1350 Golestan is transitional thin arch-gravity between Mongol Kebar/Kurit 1300 thin arch and Safavid engineering revival. Next most after Kebar–Kurit arch chain; 1350 predates Europe's arch. Still operational reservoir 2.5 km2 as Mashhad picnic lake. Renovated 1930s French. ICID listed. Binalud snowmelt reliably filled.
Why it mattersThird in Mongol–Timurid arch sequence Kebar–Kurit–Golestan predating European arch by 244 yr, proving Islamic arch continuity.
