Phantom stone-city proposal for Fawcett's 'Z' on a ridge 25 km southwest of Heckenberger's verified Kuhikugu earthwork cluster — the hypothetical Atlantean/Carthaginian white city Fawcett imagined (1920–1925) based on misreading of Manuscript 512 (1753 Bahia dead city) and Kuikuro earthwork rumors he racialized as 'white Bronze Age colony' rather than indigenous Xinguano achievement. The phantom is included as pedagogical pseudoarchaeology: no stone architecture, hieroglyphs or Atlantic inscription has been found despite 100 years of searches (including 2005 Grann–James Lynch Kalapalo testimony that Fawcett was killed by Kalapalo, not entombed in Z).
Recent LiDAR over the ridge (2022 Peripato) shows only ephemeral Xinguano causeways, 20th c. clearings and natural sandstone ridges — no 12-m walls or temple. The ridge's natural sandstone 'walls' (vertical exfoliation) mimic Cyclopean masonry in satellite, feeding the mirage.
