Jaghjagh tributary tell 2 ha, 10 m high, Halaf–ED (c.5700–2500 BCE) with Halaf painted horizon, Ubaid houses and ED Ninevite 5 silos. Small headwater farming centre linking Tell Hawa and Tell Hamoukar mid-Jazira. Soundings 1930s Mallowan and 2001 Balikh–Jaghjagh survey expose black-burnished ware and ED sealing fragments.
