Tihama spate diversion system at delta head of Wadi Zabid (120 m) at UNESCO Zabid town, 85 km southeast of Hodeidah. Five earthen ogma (spate diversion spurs) 60–140 m long, 2–3 m high of compacted silt and brush, diverting seasonal Zabid floods 35 km² delta via 28 km primary canal (Al-Majid) and 9 secondary ogmas to sorghum and millet basins. Earthen fuse breach design: ogmas fail at 250 m³/s, protecting city. Dated 9th c. CE Zabid capital (Ziyadid) heritage; manages floods from 12,000-km² catchment.
