About
About Titriş Höyük Outer Settlement
Titriş Höyük Outer Settlement is the 28-ha extramural sprawl beyond the walled lower town — together 43 ha, the largest EBA city in the Turkish Euphrates zone before state formation. Algaze's suburb transect revealed dense agglutinated courtyard houses, streets with intramural jar burials and an Akkadian administrative building with cylinder sealings — showing Titriş grew from Ninevite V village (3100 BCE) to fortified city (2600 BCE) to Akkadian outpost, then collapsed 2100 BCE, tracking EBA urbanisation to empire periphery.
