Eastern spate dam system (420 m) on Wadi Jirdan east branch 120 km northeast of Mukalla, Hadramawt, contrasting with western classic. Dual earthen spate weirs 85 m and 62 m × 2.8 m high with gabion stone core and 4 ungated spillways 12 m each feeding fan-canal network 6.2 km distributary to 38 ha sorghum–sesame plain. Wadi Jirdan is main Hadramawt eastern tributary to Ramlat Sabatayn. System dated Himyarite 380 CE with 980 CE Zaydi repair (dry stone cap). Operated as spate capture — flash flood 48-hour capture into canals then marib-like sluice board closure. Still used by Jirdan tribe — living spate. Threat: Shabwa oil road cuts distributary canal 3.8 km.
